A beautiful friendship has blossomed between two world-famous Instagrammers: James Franco (@jamesfrancoTV) and Marnie the dog (@Marnie The Dog). But their relationship began as a playful rivalry. Earlier this year, Marnie—a sweet, senior shelter dog from New York who was adopted in 2012—staged elaborate recreations of James’ iconic self-portraits. Her photos were quickly noticed by the actor himself. “I had no idea who Marnie the dog was, and then I saw she was my best mimic,” says James. “I love Marnie’s versions of my selfies better than the originals.
