The Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda is well known for its tree climbing lions. Only two populations of lions in the world have been known to climb trees as part of their day to day behavior. Theories for this activity range from getting away from biting flies or other dangers on the ground to escaping the heat in the shade and breezes of the trees. We spent all day searching the trees of Ishasha before finding a few lounging in the branches. Photo by @awc007
