Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter visited the Museum today for the opening of exhibition Countdown to Zero. He announced that cases of Guinea worm disease worldwide had dropped to 126 in 2014, from 3.5 million in 1986 when The Carter Center began the first international campaign to eradicate the parasitic disease.
