Water is a way of life in the Okavango Delta and the wildlife has adapted to the wet surroundings. Lions generally do not like water and avoid swimming unless it is necessary. The lions of Duba Plains in Botswana stalk the swamps of the Delta, swim in deep water and are unusually active hunters during the day.
