Girls jumping rope in the “Humanitarian Space” in the La Playita neighborhood of Buenaventura.
Local residents, with the help of the Justicia y Paz non-governmental organisation, established expelled illegal armed actors from this street, and established a zone of non-violence. There has not been a murder in this zone for months in marked contrast to the violence suffered there previously. A substantial police presence has helped to secure the area.
