@muholizanele has been in the museum all week installing her upcoming show and educating staff on her powerful work. Recently, staff members had the special honor of hand-writing quotes from the survivors of anti-gay violence in South Africa, people whose portraits appear in the show. This powerful piece of the exhibition speaks to Muholi’s mission to let the world know of black queer and trans people’s “resistance and existence at the height of hate crimes in SA and beyond.” See Zanele Muholi: Isibonelo/Evidence when it opens Friday, May 1. #BKMeducation #ZaneleMuholi
