Why? Is it more complicated to tell a story through a video rather than a picture? A: Coming soon to Barbican Instagram – video. We produce many videos and trailers for our events but these currently tend to live on our channels, mainly YouTube and Vimeo and more recently, on Facebook. We have started to experiment creating shorter clips of our videos to share on Instagram but it is certainly something that we are looking forward to doing more of as we try to diversify and expand the types of content we post. ________________________________________Q: What strategies do you use to attract new Instagram followers and keep them engaged? A: We’re always thinking of new ways to engage with our followers. So far, we’ve run several Instagram contests for our Art Gallery exhibitions such as our Constructing Worlds: Photography and Architecture in the Modern Age where our followers shared their city through their lenses; organised Instagram takeovers with some of our artists including the Royal Shakespeare Company and opera singer Joyce DiDonato; we’ve also taken part in an Instagram World Wide Meet Up. Next, we want to start meeting our followers.
