Indie game developer Rick Felice’s latest creation Super Slam Dunk Touchdown is the ultimate #sports game, combining baseball, basketball, hockey and more into a frantic, six-player, retro-styled 2D package. Super Slam Dunk Touchdown is Felice’s idealized vision of what sports should be. “We’re all depending on each other and we all contribute. That’s what sports is all about, and it’s a lot like local multiplayer #gaming. You’re all sitting together, working together, and trying to accomplish a goal. To me that’s the heart of Super Slam Dunk Touchdown.” When designing #games, Felice likes to “create little pockets of joy in the universe that didn’t exist before,” but as a team of one he needs all the power he can get. He built Super Slam Dunk Touchdown entirely on a single Intel-powered system. “It’s really amazing the amount of power we can squeeze out of a tiny little chip, and it’s just gonna get better. Pretty soon you’ll be able to run this game on a watch. I envy the kids coming out of college.
