Here are a few of my favorite foam rolling spots:
1. The back - we are constantly looking down at our phones and computers which causes tension in the upper back. If your stress manifests in your back, like mine does, foam rolling every night will help to break up some of the knots and help with circulation and stress relief.
2. Glutes - Part of growing your muscles is the lift heavy, and part of lifting heavy is dealing with tight new muscle. Foam rolling and stretching your glutes will help to maintain flexibility so you can keep lifting without decreased range of motion or soreness.
3. The IT Band & Tenor Fasciae Latae - frequent rolling of the IT band has become a controversial topic in the fitness industry lately. I recommend lightly rolling the IT band and more concentrated work on the Tenor Fasciae Latae (TFL) to keep both the hip and the knee joints flexible and pain free.
