Photo by @CarltonWard // The Marquesas are situated 30 miles west of Key West between the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Florida Bay. A circular rim of mangrove islands four miles in diameter surrounds vast grass and sand flats. The calm, shallow waters provide refuge to a plethora of marine life including bonefish, tarpon, permit, numerous sharks and sea turtles. The islands are only accessible by boat and can also be seen from above during the seaplane flight from Key West to the Dry Tortugas 40 miles further west. #floridawild #gulfofmexico @skinnywaterculture @yoloboard #LoveFL
