Who would not love swimming between the columns of the Temple of Apollo in the ancient site of Hierapolis (which means “holy city”). The city was ceded to the Romans in 133 BCE, and was later ravaged by an earthquake. Only a few vestiges of her former splendor remain, some engulfed in its hot springs. These warm waters still caress the bodies of the tourists who come to visit.
