I just got home from spending the evening with a few members of my family. We sat in the back patio and talked for hours about things like work ethic and habits. We discussed the importance of not only being aware of your actions, but that those actions have the ability to affect your circumstances of tomorrow; and how being aware of the consequences of our actions, whether they're good or bad, allows us to make logical and educated decisions.
We spoke about the environment and how connected the Earth really is. How maintaining balance and homeostasis in even the smallest of ecosystems contributes to the harmony of the entire globe.
Since we were little girls, my father always told us, "no matter what, you need to stay close. Promise me that you'll always stay together", and sitting around the table tonight I realized how much that lesson resonated with me throughout my life. Just like the Earth we live in, we are connected and dependent on one another, and I'm so proud to be part of the little ecosystem that is my family.
