President Obama, who is in #Alaska this week, spent three hours cruising through the water of Resurrection Bay on Tuesday. When the boat reached Bear Glacier, the longest in the park, the president pronounced it “spectacular.” Earlier in the day, @Barack Obama donned hiking boots and trekked to the #glacier, which has receded more than a mile over the past 200 years because of rising temperatures. The president is in legacy-building mode in Alaska, where he is visiting to talk about the rapidly unfolding effects of climate change and the urgent need to address it. But he is also in bucket-list mode. “It is spectacular,” he said as he turned to approach the glacier. “We want to make sure that our grandkids can see this.” Among the tourist in chief’s other activities caught on camera by @nytmills on Tuesday: buying pastries at an Anchorage cafe and meeting up with @beargrylls for a crash course in #wilderness survival techniques.
