We sat down to eat lunch while en route to the next city. This guy popped down next to us to have a chat while enjoying a few hits of pipe tobacco. At first you might assume something more, because of the not-so-discreet bong, but I learned that marijuana is pretty heavily frowned upon (and generally misunderstood) in Vietnam. Drinking tea and pipe tobacco seems to be specific in this region, mostly China, Thailand, and Laos, to name a few.
