All around the world, thousands of high-powered telescopes will be made available for public viewing of La Bella Luna. The night kicks off a very auspicious time in lunar activity, as this month will see the fourth lunar eclipse in 16 months, and a super-moon (the closest the moon gets to the earth in its orbit) coinciding with a harvest moon (the last full moon before the fall equinox). You can check for viewing stations near you at ObserveTheMoonNight's website, or you can just walk outside, look to the sky, and reflect on how this magnificent orb shapes life on planet earth.
