Once the busiest intersection in Europe in the 1920s, Potsdamer Platz was completely destroyed in World War II and then left desolate during the Cold War when the Berlin Wall bisected it. To see what this area of Berlin looked like in 1995, just 5 years after German Reunification, look at the photo I posted yesterday. Since the fall of the Wall, there has been a huge effort to revitalize the area. This building, called Bahn Tower, houses the headquarters of the Deutsche Bahn, the largest employer in Berlin.
