Opened the @yalenuscollege campus today. Happy that we now have a liberal arts college in Singapore. It will offer our students another tertiary education pathway.

Yale-NUS students study a broad range of subjects in their first two years, including natural and social sciences, humanities and the arts, before choosing their majors. They will be trained to think critically across disciplines, and to develop leadership and communications skills.

This is a learning journey for both NUS and Yale. Yale is one of the top universities in the world. But it has been operating in the US, and will have to experiment and adapt its model to Asia. Yale-NUS aims to produce graduates with a good understanding of Asia, who can work in Asian countries and lead them forward.
