25-year-old Shewit Hadera is one of tens of thousands of Eritrean refugees in Adi-Harush camp across the border in northern Ethiopia. By U.N. estimates, 5,000 Eritreans choose to leave the country each month. They flee to escape a life of conscription and poverty, opting instead to brave the world’s deadliest migrant trail, across the Sahara and the Mediterranean to Europe.
