Photo: @bethjwald/@thephotosociety I am posting some photos this week that I took this time last year while working on several assignments in Chilean and Argentine #Patagonia. I was in #Aysn Province in southern #Chile with some days free and re-connected with a #gaucho friend who I had met over ten years ago while working on a project documenting life of gauchos (known as “Huasos” in parts of Chile) on Patagonia sheep ranches - Yael “Pollo” Velasquez helped me by loaning me one of his horses and let me follow him and his compañeros in their daily life - several years later, I helped Pollo and his brother when they were working on a Colorado ranch. Last February, I tracked him down in his home town of Bahia #Murta, on Lago General Carrera, and he invited me to visit his family’s land, high above the #Murta Valley, where they have a handful of cows and sheep.
