My dad liked to tell me that adventure is often "inconvenience rightly understood". I don't know if these were his words or someone else's...but it really doesn't matter. Flights are delayed, shit breaks, we get sick, you get lost, you get hit by a storm...you get lost in a storm, you break an ankle, you break your head, you break a camera, your motivation breaks...I broke my back once...but it's all adventure. Sometimes it sucks, but the rewards...especially when we can see the forest thru the trees, are huge.
This is just another image of the process. I drove around Botswana with @markstonephoto for months. More than once shit went "wrong"...like when bolts just started falling off our rig threatening our trailer to disconnect and fly off the hitch...killing something along the way I'm sure.
Africa is great for inconveniences rightly understood. It's a place of patience. Like the land you are on, you simply have to persist without anger or malice...just understand and let the adventure unfold.
