@_goinghome here with an obligatory Banff photo. And I have to add a quick back story because this is a prime example of why @Instagram is such a great community.

I was visiting Calgary for work and was adamant about hiking through Banff. My first day off I went in by myself. Stupid, perhaps. I don't suggest hiking in another country by your lonesome... But it was great day of reflection and exploration, but I wanted a personal connection. I wanted to meet people and be inspired by them and these locations. So I took a chance. I posted on my account asking if anyone was in the area and interested in meeting up. @travelalberta actually saw my post and responded, suggesting some of their favorite users in the area. Needless to say, I met up with 4 amazing people the next morning. 4 amazing people who agreed to wake up before the sun and meet me, a stranger... We hiked all morning and shared stories about our heritages and life in different countries. I made some great friends that day and I thank Instagram for making that happen, and I thank @brittanys89 and @celestineaerden for taking a chance on a stranger.

This community is a family, you just have to be open to the possibility.
