One day last fall, an actor named Greg Boz got a job offer — but not the kind he's used to getting. On the line was an artist who calls herself @zardulu, whose medium is the elaborately staged viral video. Revealed as the force behind #SelfieRat and suspected as the creator of #PizzaRat, @zardulu enlisted Greg to play a fisherman who caught a 3-eyed fish in the Gowanus Canal. The prank was reported in a slew of news outlets and even found its way into a subway ad. Greg isn't the flannel-shirted guy who appears in the viral video, but he assumes that the artist tried the scene with other actors. @nytchangster photographed Greg with the 3-eyed fish he received from @zardulu last fall.
