Ever wonder what was at Bennelong before the Sydney Opera House? This image comes from the Tyrrell photographic collection that was taken by Henry King sometime between 1880-1900. This fort, designed by Francis Greenway, was then built in 1817 and demolished in 1901. It became a tram shed until the 50's then in 1957, Jørn Utzon won a competition to design the world famous Sydney Opera House that occupies this site today. #MAAScollection #potd
