The Xingú River, where I photographed this young Kayapó girl, provides all the necessities for thousands of indigenous people in the Amazon. Sadly, the government of now-impeached President Djilma Rousseff decided to dam this wild river. A true tragedy that motivates me to work hard to try to protect the other rivers where dams have been proposed.
