(2/6) One of Tom’s biggest motivating factors for buying a Mirai was his amazing experience with his 2009 Prius. “The thing’s flawless,” he says matter-of-factly. “I had absolutely no problem at all. It’s got 106,000 miles on it now and virtually not done one thing to it. Even the brakes are the original brakes on it [probably] because of the regenerative system on the braking.” With the Mirai, he enjoys upgraded power and performance from the vehicle’s 114-kilowatt (153-horsepower) fuel cell engine. “As far as performance on the car, the thing’s got a lot of power,” he says. “I’m really impressed with it.
