(3/6) The four categories that Tom uses to describe his Mirai experience are: environmental, cool factor, performance, and design. Environmentally, Mirai runs on hydrogen and emits only water, making it a “nonpolluting” car on the road. Mirai has a cool factor; Tom notices that fellow drivers don’t pull up alongside his Mirai at stop lights. Instead, “They stop behind me in the lane next to me looking at the car, taking a picture of the back of the car, trying to decipher what exactly it is.” When it comes to Mirai's performance, Tom loves the sound system, smooth ride and ability to toggle quickly between its eco-sensitive and POWER Mode for an extra kick. “When you put [Mirai] into POWER Mode, it kicks in the battery and the fuel cell,” he says. “The electric motor goes full power, and it gives you probably a third more power.” Most importantly, Tom loves the design of his white Mirai. “The white color really shows the lines and the design of the car. On the side, the white paint job almost looks like it’s a two-toned color!
