A powerful looking shoulder is a corner stone of a great physique which is one reason why it's so sought after. Isolation of any muscle doesn't really exist, supporting muscle recruitment and the antagonist of a muscle is always engaged as well. A shoulder press for example utilizes many muscles, making it a great tool to develop a powerful look. In the concentric motion of a shoulder press for example you have the pecs and triceps and major factors in the movement. You also have muscles in voiced with the upward rotation of the shoulder blade. One of the biggest factors making the shoulder press a dominant movement for a dominant look is the eccentric motion. One reason I push and enforce mind muscle connections, the control of a weight is extremely beneficial. There is a time for explosive, burst out of the hole movements, but for muscle growth, control is always a factor. In the eccentric motion of a shoulder press you have the Lats taking down and in the force you hold above.
