One puppy went home with the actress playing the teacher. Another is living with the actor who portrays the father. The stage manager took one, as did a hairdresser, and the parents of a publicist. During the 24-month #Broadway run of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” (@curiousbroadway), 21 puppies — golden retrievers and other goldenish dogs — received their 15 minutes of fame. The show’s animal trainer sought rescue puppies, but finding dogs with the right look, personality and availability was tough, so she often turned to carefully chosen breeders. A few puppies weren't cut out for showbiz: 2 exhibited stage fright and Puppy No. 6, a spaniel-poodle mix, vomited onstage. But this unusual puppy pipeline is nearing an end. The @curiousbroadway run ends on September 4. @cgregoryphoto photographed @ty_lea, who plays the lead role, getting to know Simon, a 5-pound golden retriever.
