Image by @beverlyjoubert. Dawn mists, characteristic of the Okavango at this time of year, partially obscure the forms of lechwe on the flood plains. These swamp-loving antelope are well adapted to this area and retreat to the water when under threat where they can still move with incredible speed. Here at Duba their numbers have grown significantly since we gave this area protection only a few years ago. From around 1000 animals, they've increased to around 10 000 and the predator numbers are also increasing with this steady supply of food. #NatGeoInspires #Botswana #okavango #lechwe
