On the five-year anniversary of my last visit to western Tanzania, I was honored to return and spend some quality time with the lovely people who live just north of the Mahale Mountains National Park, where @nature_africa and @pathfinderint’s Tuungane Project provides communities with important health information and addresses interconnected challenges to create healthier families, fisheries, and forests. Nearly 50 percent of the population in this area is under the age of 15, which means kids followed us everywhere we went. Their playful spirit was contagious, and it often wasn’t long before large groups of kids were jumping in front of my camera or showing off their gymnastics skills in the water. It was my great pleasure to show them their photo on my camera screen and send prints back to the villagers with @nature_africa’s Tuungane team. I could feel more prosperity in the air since the last time I was here and look forward to sharing highlights from our recent trip to this special place with you.
