Video by @amivitale. Seen by few, but beloved by billions, the giant panda is one of the most recognized animals on the planet. Giant pandas are found only in central China, such as here at Chengdu Panda Base in Sichuan Province, and their reliance on bamboo has left them vulnerable to any loss of habitat. But thanks to years of research and increasing environmental preservation efforts, China is on its way to saving the panda.
Conservation organizations including @conservationorg are now working in partnership with government and local communities to help create and secure habitat in prime panda land. China is one of the few countries where forest cover is actually growing.
