Happy Birthday to French photographer Eugène Atget, who was #bornonthisday in 1857. Virtually unknown as an artist during his lifetime, Atget is noted for his images, which he called “documents,” of Parisian life and architecture. In the 1920s, his photos caught the attention of the #Surrealists, who admired his keen observations of daily life that appear like dreams.
