The Butler Wash Panel in the new Bears Ears National Monument

These glyphs date from around 1500 BCE. The Butler Wash panel is one of thousands of pieces of prehistoric artwork in the newly created Bears Ears National Monument. The land, archeological sites and art contained in this national treasure without equal in the world. There are over 100,000 archeological sites in the Bears Ears. It is sacred land for the Dine, Hopi, Ute and Zuni peoples. I'm making plans to return to the Bears Ears this spring with my Ancient Art Archive project. We help people explore and preserve humanity's oldest stories. Its a global initiative to preserve our shared culture by recording the oldest art on the planet.
