Guessss who skipped the gym today and doesn’t feel an ounce of guilt about it? 🙋🏻💘🌸 While I am physically recovered from my rest day (which is usually on Sunday), I decided to take another one today. As I talked about over Snapchat today (👻snap: fightforgrowth), we all need to consider physical and mental recovery from training. Mental recovery from training is rarely talked about, probably because there are too many memes out there that insist you train insane, or suffer the consequences of ‘staying the same’. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Exercise makes me happy and it is my primary outlet in life. But I am not fixated on this source of joy👆🏼. One of the greatest gifts of my self-love journey is quite simply the intuition that was manifested by honouring my needs✨. Intuition tells me that today I need to work through my stress and take proactive steps outside of the weight room. Intuition tells me I don’t have to cut calories because I am not expending energy (99.9% i will eat more today to fuel my creative fire of a belly lol🤡🍔) Don’t beat yourself up for listening to your body. Not training shouldn’t beget guilt when you are coming from sound and loving practice. Be unapologetic with the way your body moves, or doesn’t move.
