I've been honored to stand with these brave high school student activists who are fighting Los Angeles Unified School District's (LAUSD) policy of daily "random" searches. This policy has been shown to be ineffective and it criminalizes black and brown youth, making school an unsafe and dehumanizing experience for innocent kids. Yesterday, this group of mostly high school students came out to show their opposition to injustice. Inspired by these young adults fighting for their peers, themselves, their city, and their country. Let's show them support!
