Fred and Maria Wright's son, Jerry, was killed during the Pulse nightclub shooting. "My wife and I have become very active in gun safety," says Fred. "We are doing everything we can to make this country safer. We didn’t want to just stay around and sob the whole time after he was killed. We needed to see what we can do. We need to fix our laws to protect the average citizen from dangerous people buying guns so easily. We don’t understand why that’s such a big, difficult thing for politicians. There’s the idea that we have to protect the Second Amendment—but what about protecting the people?"
