Over a sixteen-year period, Frank Lloyd Wright's design for the Guggenheim Museum underwent a series of revisions. A close reading of documents in the Guggenheim Museum Archives sheds light on architectural elements that were never realized in the final building. Among them, a second ramp dubbed the Quick Ramp, which was twice as steep as the Grand Ramp, which Guggenheim visitors know very well. The relationship between the two envisioned ramps is illustrated in Wright's blueprints as overlapping circles, an intersection of pure forms that was archetypal of his design process. #FLW150
