I spotted this sweet boy playing at #NashvillePride today, wearing a shirt that states a simple, universal, and uncomplicated truth: "Love is a human right." To the parents teaching their kids this simple and transformational fact from an early age ... I salute you. Today and everyday.

To the thousands of people who came out to march and dance and high five and hug today, thank you for letting your neighbors and your community know supported and seen and loved they are.

To the people who came out wearing shirts emblazoned with another truth, "God loves everyone unconditionally," who stood in front of the two (yup as in one, two) sad protestors using "religion" as a weapon rather than an offering of love, and drowned out their cruel, bastardized rhetoric with chants and cheers and ringing bells, thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. I lived in the South for a decade, and I get real real proud when it shows me its manners and grace like that. Love y'all. Love is love is love is love. Happy Pride.
