It's #ThrowbackThursday! First I'd like to thank everyone for following LACMA's Instagram page during my artist in residence.
For #throwbackthursday I'm curious to know how your teenage experience influenced who you are today as an adult. How has it informed the path you have taken? For example (SWIPE LEFT for more images):
Image 1. Eddie Ruvalcaba has been documenting the world around him since he was a teenager. He took this photo of Jason (RIP), a member of the party crew East LA Rebels in 1992. Eddie continues to photograph and is currently a photographer for Homeboy Industries.
Image 2. Michael Trance started djing at parties as a teenager and has made a career of this path. Here he is djing at an event in Los Angeles in the early 90s.
And image 3. MEChA members Rosie Ramirez, Samuel Hernandez, Cynthia Maltos, Ernesto Luna and Janie Garza. (c. 1972) in Washington State.
The people in the photos inspired future generations with their activism, art, talents and interests.
