Indian rollers, when perched, appear dull and brown in color with some slight blue accents. However, when they spread their wings and enter into flight, an incredible display of blue, indigo and violet plumage is revealed. Rollers are named for their impressive courtship ritual that involves twists, turns and rolling motions-- all in flight. These birds can be found in India and much of southern Asia.
