seven years ago, on mom's bday... I packed up my bags, for her.. and I said.. "Mom, for your birthday present + I'm gonna make something of my life in NYC." It was 2010 + I had to move home after a sad breakup. I said to myself I'm only going to be here for one year.... and I promised myself & mom that.
I wrote my whole book "Pretty Delicious" from my parents house in San Diego. We did not all get along, hahah it was brutal + it was not expected. The show that I was on at the time got canceled and my life took some stumbles.
I drove to LA, flew to NY for all of our shoots, I kept my promise to save + to move in that one year + the show I was on helped to fund my NY move.
I sold my car all by myself + packed up just one suitcase. I looked at mom and said, "Happy Birthday! I am going to make you proud in NY one day, it's calling me and where I belong." Seven years and seven birthdays later, I could never have worked this hard, I could never have helped so many or written more books anywhere else.
Do something everyday that scares you. Your fears are merely the challenges that are going to keep you brave, resilient and still, and when you overcome them, you'll put on your crown and say... "I would never have wanted it any other way." Plan ahead, be prepared, be resilient.

Go. Be. Do. Jus don't stay static: sad and bad shit is gonna happen---action will get you anywhere!
