Staring at a wild dog eye to eye from ground level is an experience I won't soon forget. As soon as the pack picked up my scent it was a whole lot of growling and raised ears. This dog here was one of the 2 alphas in the pack and approached me closer than the others, let's just say I was hyper-aware of my situation. After some prolonged direct eye contact and sniffing in the air the pack relaxed and semi-ignored me. The alpha here started chewing on dead tree branches and the facial expression here is nothing more than an awkward moment of mid-chew.
