Photo by @jodymacdonaldphoto // It may be a simple structure but it has great ocean views. Standing on stilts above the water, the Bajau seafaring gypsies have built off-shore communities that rely solely on the ocean to survive. Originally hailing from the southern Philippines, the Bajau have migrated south over the last few decades to the waters of Malaysia and Indonesia. Their numbers around the world are currently estimated at 400,000. Traveling to the Sulu sea to visit these nomadic people isn’t the easiest place to get to but you will be rewarded with a unique adventure where you can witness the beautiful connection these people have with the ocean. Folow me @jodymacdonaldphoto for more photos and stories from around the world. #sulusea #malaysia #borneo
