1932 marked a turning point in Picasso's relationship with Marie-Thérèse. The couple moved away from the secrecy of their affair to living a domestic life together at Picasso’s Château de Boisgeloup. Picasso’s art also changed from a violent, Surrealist distortion towards a more gentle appreciation of the female form – a free celebration of Marie-Thérèse's sensuality.
