This beautiful Oryx (or Gemsbok as it is known in Afrikaans) finds a bit of relief under a scrawny acacia tree in the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. There is very little flora here in the vast Namib desert so these guys take advantage of it when they can. They are found throughout arid regions of Southern Africa and also happen to be the national animal of Namibia.
