The Hall was built in commemoration of administration of Koriyama City in 1964. The western style hall is romantic as well as Renaissance style, and it is very attractive. It has been popular among citizens as a symbol of Koriyama City, being used for concert. The catch copy of Kooriyama, the Vienna of northeast Japan, is the Gakuto Kooriyama. Many performances from well-known groups and worldwide concerts are being held. It is said that the brass band or choir contests are nationwide top level results, from elementary school to high school.
