I’ve spent a long time finding myself as a woman after being bullied since my childhood for being ugly. I went from classroom geek to page 3 model at the age of 18 and the glamour industry literally taught me that in order to be attractive at that time I had to change absolutely everything about my appearance to be the opposite of what I naturally am. I had little to no self esteem in myself because of it and couldn’t find the confidence to remove my makeup even in front of my boyfriend for fear of him not liking how I looked without it. Because I love sports I only ever wear foundation and a flick of eyeliner at the edge of my eyes to make me look a little more awake. I don’t want somebody to fall for me looking glamourous and then find me unattractive without makeup, I don’t want to look like two different people. I want to be myself in a world filled with filters, photoshop and makeup skills and I hope that that’s something future generations will learn to embrace rather than feeling like they’re forever falling short of perfect. There is no such thing as perfect! I love looking glam in makeup and if I had the skills I’d probably wear more of it more often but it’s sad to think that girls these days think they’re ugly for not looking flawless when flawless is in fact digitally enhanced and unattainable. We’re all human, we all look the same after a wetwipe so don’t beat yourself up about it. Good lighting and makeup make me smile but cuddles and kisses when I’m bare faced warm my heart ❣ embracing nature is never a weakness my darlings ----------------------------
