Good luck to everyone competing today in the @usaclimbing #bouldering nationals!
This photo is from the Bouldering World Championships in Arco, Italy, in which I took Silver... much to my pleasant surprise as my focus has always been on routes. That said, competitions go that way; sometimes it’s a satisfying experience and sometimes it feels like a disappointment. I’ve had my share of both. I hope all my friends crush it and have a positive personal performance today!
It has been several years since I did a bouldering competition. I’ve shifted my goals to the outdoors since competing for almost a decade and a half. People ask me if I miss competitions, and the truth is that right now I don’t. That’s where I’m at now :) There is an admirable amount of commitment and focus involved in the circuit and I love to see the evolution of competition climbing. There are so many incredibly talented athletes competing tonight, and I am excited to tune in and support! Would love to do some commentating :) #usacbouldering
