Although this #Guam rail chick is taking a snooze, our scientists are wide awake and working hard to return this species, currently classified as “extinct in the wild," back into its native habitat. Chicks hatched at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute will be released in the wild in 2018 with the hope of ultimately creating a self-sustaining Guam rail population on Rota. #WeSaveSpecies
