Alt-right supporter dressed in medieval armor after the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 12, 2017. That day in August, the alt-right movement staged a demonstration at the Emancipation Park (formerly called Lee Park), home to a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee. Fights soon broke out between the groups. Later a counterprotester was killed by a rally participant who police say intentionally drove his car into a crowd. These events spark a nationwide discussion on the growing indifference in the United States and around the world, an us verse them imbalance that fosters only hatred rather than understanding and peace.
